I’ve been a listener of Boston Confidential for a while now and as someone who grew up in Boston, I really appreciate how authentic this podcast feels. The host has a voice and storytelling style that make it an easy and engaging listen. He clearly knows the city, from Roxbury and JP to the North Shore, and understands the history behind each case, both the true crime details and the broader context of Boston itself.
I’ve seen a few negative reviews calling him racist or overly pro police, which couldn’t be further from the truth. He gives credit where it’s deserved but isn’t afraid to call out departments when mistakes are made. He’s also covered racism within the Boston Police Department directly, so it’s frustrating to see people misjudge based on a single episode.
Overall, this podcast is well researched, thoughtful, and genuinely captures Boston’s true crime stories with depth and respect. Highly recommend.
